Full Spectrum Hemp Oil

Though the therapeutic potential of cannabidiol is only just beginning to gain widespread attention, it’s healing properties have deep-reaching historical roots. In fact, the use of CBD-rich cannabis products for pain relief and disease treatment dates back to Chinese Emperor Shen Neng in the 2700s BCE. It took several millennia for W. B. O'Shaughnessy to introduce the concept of medicinal cannabis to western medicine, and then another century for chemists at the University of Illinois to discover the isolated compound called CBD.

Even then, a thorough understanding of CBD’s physical structure and health implications evaded both scientists and the general public. Not until the 1980s did research truly open the lid on CBD therapy, namely in regards to cases of epilepsy. And while public awareness of medicinal marijuana has skyrocketed over the past few decades, exploration of isolated CBD - without the psychoactive effects of THC - are only now gaining traction. What research currently does exist, however, points to wide possibilities of therapeutic benefits, as outlined below.

Studies abound on the numerous chemical channels by which CBD reduces inflammation. This includes inhibiting the propagation of harmful chemicals such as cytokines and chemokines as well as enabling anti-inflammatory agents such as A2A receptors, T-regulatory cells, and apoptosis.

These findings suggest that CBD products are capable of both reducing existing inflammation and preventing future issues without any hidden drawbacks. That’s in stark contrast to the currently traditional anti-inflammation medicine - non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) - which have been linked to adverse health reactions.

Powerful Nootropic

CBD has been shown to be a potent cognitive enhancer capable of reducing the effects of chemicals associated with oxidative protein damage. Such deterioration can pose serious harm to the hippocampus, which is responsible for several prominent brain functions. In other words, CBD can help protect learning abilities, memory retention, and emotional stability.

To dive deeper: Unlike THC-rich products, CBD oils have been linked with memory improvement - most notably in relation to Alzheimer’s patients. By alleviating oxygen stress and fostering cell generation in key areas of the brain, CBD effectively enhances memory capacity.

Furthermore, using cannabidiol can mitigate the anxieties inherent in stressful mental activities such as public speaking. Along with other benefits like an uptick in alertness and clarity of thought, CBD manages to pose a number of advantages for cognitive performance.

Beyond nootropic advantages, CBD’s antioxidant properties have demonstrated impressive neuroprotective results. The implications of such medical possibilities are indeed far-reaching, with the potential to aid against Parkinson’s disease, as well as a bevy of other afflictions such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and more.

While scientific advancements have only just begun to scratch the surface in researching the full extent of CBD’s healing capabilities, these substantial early returns are undoubtedly promising.

CBD’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory features have a significant impact in decreasing the wear and tear of aging in a number of ways. On the surface, CBD reduces skin wrinkles by cutting the damaging effect of unstable atoms known as “free radicals.” It also boosts the body in producing natural oil glands which assist in sustaining moisturization, and in alleviating the effects of anxiety on skin lines.

Physical health can also benefit from CBD, as its ability to lessen inflammation has the potential to temper anything from chronic back pain to cancer growth.  As for psychological aging, CBD may be able to allay the deterioration of age-induced neurological conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s.

Metabolism Boost

While the effects of THC on hunger are well documented, it turns out that CBD has a number of metabolism-centric implications. In fact, research has shown that CBD boosts the chemicals that break down fat, activates mitochondria’s calorie-burning potency, and weakens the proteins behind fat cell growth.

Research is still developing, but signs are starting to point to CBD as a viable therapeutic treatment for metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes.

More Energy

Unlike THC, which has been shown to result in lethargic behavior, CBD has demonstrated wakeful arousal. In fact, one particular study confirmed as much by administering 15 milligrams of both substance. Further research bolsters this notion, finding that 10 to 20 milligrams of CBD creates energy in “wake-inducing” brain regions such as the lateral hypothalamus and dorsal raphe nuclei. Ultimately, the science simply supports widespread anecdotal evidence that CBD effectively promotes alertness.

Deeper Sleep

Though CBD may be a stimulant, its benefits also include improving sleep tendencies. That’s especially so for the 40+ million Americans afflicted with sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, or circadian rhythm disorder.

While that reality seems to contradict CBD’s effect on energy, the difference lies in the dosage. Small doses trigger wakefulness; larger doses have been shown to activate hormones such as melatonin to stabilize sleep patterns. Furthermore, CBD’s pain and anxiety relieving symptoms also help those afflicted fall asleep unperturbed.

The science on CBD’s potential benefit as an antidepressant is still in its relative infancy, but the initial returns are certainly encouraging. For instance, cannabidiol’s ability to increase serotonin, glutamine, and anandamide levels to generate antidepressant side-effects has been documented in numerous studies.

Additionally, the therapeutic effects of CBD can inhibit the brain’s susception to inflammatory cytokines, which commonly associated with symptoms of depression. More studies are undoubtedly incoming, but suffice it to say that in one study, 90% of patients with depression saw discernible improvements.

There are several ways that CBD’s medicinal reach extends to psychological afflictions such as anxiety. First off, tests have witnessed anxiolytic effects such as non-activation of anxiety-inducing neuroreceptors. Cannabidiol has also been linked to the production of the 5-HT1a serotonin receptor, which moderates anxiety levels.

Beyond its well-documented potential as a cure for social anxieties - which we detail in the “Social Interactions” section - CBD has even demonstrated improvements for those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and panic disorder.

Further Mental Well-Being

In addition to its benefits of anti-depression and anti-anxiety, CBD has also had a more generally positive impact on mental well-being. For one, it is that CBD facilitates neurogenesis, which helps stabilize moods.

Furthermore, CBD blocks the production of an enzyme that inhibits anandamide, which itself is connected to feelings of joy. By allowing anandamide a longer shelf life, the quality of mood is more likely to stay positive for more extended periods of time.

Addiction Recovery

One study found CBD’s promise manifest in two ways: Creating optimal physical and psychological states for avoiding relapse and actually nurturing its own restorative effects. It’s positive effect on mood, anxiety, and mental stability particularly lends itself to those recovering from the lows of addiction.

What’s more is CBD’s direct implications on addictive behavior. In fact, there have been a number of cases in which CBD reduced impulsive behavior in relation to alcohol and cocaine abuse. Further tests suggest its value extends to dealing with opioid, tobacco, and marijuana addiction as well.

Calming the Nervous System

Even if you don’t suffer from clinical anxiety, CBD can still lead you to experience the same anxiolytic benefits. This can simply mean alleviating stress, calming the nervous system, and taking the edge off after a difficult day at work. CBD’s promotion of 5-HT1a serotonin receptors can help anyone experience a relaxing, unwinding sensation with the potential long-term benefit of heightened emotional tranquility.

Social Anxiety Prevention

Some 15 million Americans suffer from a form of social anxiety disorder (SAD), but effective therapeutic solutions are still relatively minimal. Enter CBD, which has produced statistically significant evidence of a favorable influence on the limbic and paralimbic brain regions associated with SAD.

CBD has also improved the performance of subjects engaging in public speaking tests, whose anxiety levels were measured at lower levels than those given placebos.

Immune System Strength

Initial testing suggests that taking CBD can support the body’s endocannabinoid system in managing a number of bodily activities. More specifically, it has been favorably linked to cell growth and restoration; by enabling neurogenesis and limiting cell degeneration, CBD can help the body prevent and recover from nerve cell damage inflicted by disease or injury.

Furthermore, as covered in the anti-inflammation section above, CBD’s capacity for reducing inflammatory chemicals can aid the overall health and functionality of the body’s immune system. The medical potential here has already extended to aid children with epilepsy.

Heightened Confidence

The combination of reducing the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and addiction, and pacifying the nervous and immune systems has allowed CBD to cultivate a loyal following. Enthusiasts swear by its long-reaching effects on confidence and well-being in various facets of daily life... And scientific research is quickly starting to support this word of mouth.
